Mansion of James J. Hill (1838-1916), the empire builder, and creator of a vast railroad network across the northwestern United States. According to the book "James J. Hill and the Opening of the northwest" by Albro Martin, Hill was born near Guelph, Ontario, studied at the nearby Rockwood Academy, but never again set foot in a classroom after age fifteen.

The tour guide claimed the cost of this pipe organ to be $500,000 in 1890. Being allowed to play it for 3 minutes was, for me, a highlight of the trip.
